Position Summary

The Project Engineer will support the successful execution of construction projects. This role includes assisting in project planning, design coordination, scheduling, and execution to ensure projects are delivered safely on time, within scope, and on budget. The Project Engineer will collaborate closely with senior project managers, project managers, field teams, subcontractors, and clients to uphold Freedom Industries’ core values.

Experience/Education/Other 

  • Trade License is a plus
  • Good understanding of work sequencing and strategy of creating effective schedules
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Essential Functions Essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation.  The Company considers the functions listed here as essential to performance of the job duties.  

  • Assist in planning, designing, and managing projects
  • Provide technical support to the senior project manager teams and field teams to resolve design and construction challenges
  • Develop project schedules, coordinate with subcontractors, and monitor project progress to ensure adherence to timelines
  • Assist in the procurement of materials, tools, and equipment required for project execution
  • Review project plans, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements and codes
  • Assist with cost analysis, track project budgets, and contribute to Change Order management
  • Collaborate with engineering consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to address design changes or conflicts
  • Conduct site visits to ensure safety, quality control, and adherence to specifications and company standards
  • Support the preparation of project documentation, including RFIs, reports, and progress updates
  • Champion safety practices in accordance with company policies and OSHA regulations
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members, effectively communicating project expectations, progress, and potential risks

  • Assist Senior PM Teams to efficiently allocate resources, manage budgets, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal use of personnel and materials for project success
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans and proactively addressing potential issues to minimize impact on project timelines and outcomes
  • Become proficient in job costing and accounting software and prepare and present detailed project reports, documentation, and updates to Senior PM Team, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies, maintaining high levels of quality and compliance by driving quality control and safety protocols
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation
  • Build strong relationships with clients and vendors
  • Establish and sustain trust among the support teams
  • Assess customer satisfaction, maintain good relationships with internal and external customers, including representatives of customers
  • Job may include working in close proximity to others, sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time
