Position Overview

Freedom Industries is seeking a detail-oriented, highly collaborative Building Information Modeling Coordinator with expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems to support our pharmaceutical and industrial construction projects.  The ideal candidate will serve as a bridge between field operations, project management, and design teams—ensuring seamless integration of BIM technologies into our construction workflows and enabling a direct transition to prefabrication and modular spooling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Model Development & Management

    • Develop, maintain, and coordinate 3D BIM models for MEP systems using Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.

    • Integrate architectural, structural, and civil models to coordinate clashes and verify constructability.

    • Ensure model geometry and data are detailed to a prefabrication-ready Level of Development (LOD 400+).

  • Prefabrication & Spooling

    • Translate coordinated BIM models into detailed spool drawings and fabrication packages for MEP assemblies.

    • Work directly with fabrication teams to ensure BIM output aligns with prefab shop requirements and field install sequencing.

    • Optimize routing and layout for efficiency in prefab, skid builds, and modular assemblies.

  • Project Coordination

    • Facilitate BIM coordination meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, and consultants.

    • Support field teams with accurate installation drawings, shop drawings, and layout points.

    • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure model accuracy reflects construction intent.

  • Quality Assurance

    • Perform clash detection and issue tracking using Navisworks or similar tools.

    • Enforce company BIM standards and ensure all models adhere to LOD and naming conventions.

  • Workflow & Process Innovation

    • Develop BIM workflows and libraries to streamline preconstruction, prefabrication, and construction processes.

    • Support model-based estimating, scheduling, and quantity takeoff integration.

  • Documentation & Deliverables

    • Produce coordinated shop drawings, sleeve layouts, penetration drawings, spools, and as-built models.

    • Generate construction documents and export field-ready data for layout using Total Stations or tablets.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience

    • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field preferred.

    • 3–6 years of BIM coordination experience with MEP systems in a construction environment.

  • Technical Skills

    • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD MEP, and BIM 360/ACC.

    • Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu, Trimble Total Station, and spooling software (e.g., eVolve, MSuite, Stratus).

    • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, prefabrication logistics, and field installation practices.

  • Soft Skills

    • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.

    • Collaborative team player with attention to detail and a passion for innovation.

Preferred Certifications (Not Required)

  • Autodesk Certified Professional – Revit for MEP

  • OSHA 10/30 Hour Construction Safety

  • Certificate in Virtual Design and Construction (VDC)
