Position Summary

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for overall management of the construction project, to include preparing or overseeing the completion of small estimates, submittal documents, large material purchases, and the safety of the construction team. PM will work with multiple site Project Managers, Engineers, customers, and suppliers. PM may also be assigned projects that an estimator has been awarded and will have to lead and direct the activities of General Superintendents (GS), Superintendents, Project Engineers and field personnel while overseeing all project activity. The Project Manager will work with site leadership to adequately staff projects utilizing current staff, and work with Chief Operating Officer and Human Resources for recruiting and hiring efforts when necessary. PM will be expected to excel at relationship building with current and prospective clients. It is the PM’s responsibility to ensure that all assigned projects are estimated and completed on time, to include completing all work safely, on time, and on budget. PM will be responsible for understanding the scope of work and project documents completely for each project. PM will be responsible for ensuring all change orders are priced in a timely manner.

Experience/Education/Other 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of project Management experience in industrial mechanical and plumbing work
  • Deep understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, and manpower planning
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with design/build, shutdowns, or fast-paced industrial environments is a plus
  • Willingness to take ownership and thrive in a high-accountability, team-first culture

  • Lead by example in championing Freedom Industries Core Focus and Core Values in daily duties
  • Model, communicate and enforce Safety Management Core Processes/Policies
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate. Prepare estimate from blueprints, schematics, or conceptually on multiple projects and provide client finalized cost proposal
  • Hire, train, supervise, evaluate, schedule, motivate, communicate with, lead, develop and discipline direct reports
  • Identify and evaluate possible areas for cost savings in both the estimate and project execution phases
  • Initiate, document, estimate, and manage all change orders in accordance with the Change Order SOP
  • Confront difficult situations and manage to a successful conclusion
  • Thorough knowledge of code compliance and regulations
  • Ensure proper documentation control is adhered to per ‘Job Folders’ SOP
  • Prepare detailed listing of material, equipment, and subcontract items from the estimate, obtain quotes, and purchase
  • Review quotes for completeness and conformance with plans and specs. Responsible for the timely completion of all customers bid related documents
  • Champion of the organization’s Core Processes
  • Learn, ask questions, teach others, lead
  • Responsible for hitting yearly Gross Profit goals and preparing complete and accurate monthly financial projections
  • Thorough understanding and implementation of established Phase Codes in budgeting and project execution
  • Admin Duties (Approve AP & AR Invoices, Close/Adjust PO’s, Manage Project Closeout Documentation, etc.)
  • Adherence to Freedoms/Clients QAQC Manual
  • Learn and champion Freedom’s Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS)
  • Other duties as assigned by Senior Project Manager and Chief Operating Officer.

Experience/Education/Other
